Canvas of Kerala, an interdepartmental painting competition was organized by the English Department and the English Literary Association (ELA) on 25th August 2025 at Christ College, Vizhinjam. The event brought together talented students from diverse academic backgrounds to interpret and celebrate Kerala’s rich cultural, natural, and traditional heritage through art. Under the supervision of Ms Soorya Nayana S.S., HOD, Department of English, Ms Sruthi Sunil and our judge Mr. Sarath Kumar S. R., participants created vibrant works reflecting the essence of Kerala from its serene backwaters and lush landscapes to its vibrant festivals and architectural heritage.

The competition fostered creativity, unity, and cultural pride among participants, while the award ceremony held during the college’s Onam celebration on 27th August added a festive grandeur to the recognition of artistic excellence. Winners: First Prize – Abhishek A. R. (S5 Finance), Second Prize – Keziah S. (S5 English), Abhirami M. K. (S1 BCA), Third Prize – Jobin S. M. (S1 BCA), and Rubeena (S5 BBA) were honored for their outstanding contributions. Canvas of Kerala succeeded not only in showcasing artistic talent but also in strengthening the spirit of collaboration and appreciation for Kerala’s unique identity within the Christ College community.
