Wellness Beyond the Classroom: Nurturing Mind, Body and Life Skills

The Centre for Counselling Service and Peer Education Programme, in collaboration with the Centre for Health Service and Centre for Students Physical Well Being, organized an inspiring wellness session titled “Wellness Beyond the Classroom: Nurturing Mind, Body and Life Skills” at Christ College. The programme was conducted in association with SLEC on 24 February 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.The session aimed to promote holistic wellbeing among students by focusing on mental health, physical wellness, and essential life skills required for personal and academic growth.
The programme highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal wellbeing. The resource person for the session was Dr. Smitha S. Sivan, Medical Officer at AYUSH PHC Vilappilshala, who delivered an insightful talk on the significance of nurturing both mind and body. She emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices, stress management techniques, and developing life skills such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, and effective
decision-making.The programme witnessed active participation from students, who engaged enthusiastically in the interactive session. The discussion provided students with an opportunity to reflect on their lifestyle habits and explore ways to enhance their wellbeing beyond the classroom.

The wellness session successfully created awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body while equipping students with essential life skills for managing stress and leading a balanced life. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting student wellbeing and holistic development.
