The Department of Tourism has organised an orientation program for students which is coordinated by Mr. Joseph P Job, Asst. Prof. Department of Tourism, along with the student co-ordinator Ms. Ruksana Beegam as a part of celebrating World Tourism Day. World Tourism Day will be celebrated as the shift towards tourism is being recognized as a crucial pillar for development and as progress is well underway. The function was started with a prayer to Almighty by Nishana. M of S1 tourism, followed by a welcome speech to the dignitaries by Ms Ruksana Beegam of S1 tourism. Dr. Joseph K. A. Principal Christ College Vizhinjam inaugurated the program with thoughtful information for the students. The resource person, Ms Hizana B gave a fruitful session on the Theme – Rethinking Tourism which contain importance of tourism in the economy and cultural development of India.
