The reading competition organized by the Malayalam Literary Collective on June 19, 2026, as part of Reading Day celebrations, demonstrated the students’ reading ability, accuracy in pronunciation, and their skill in presenting texts expressively. The poetry recitation competition that followed was also of a high standard. The students competed with one another in terms of voice modulation, expressiveness, and the selection of poems. There is no doubt that this programme will help nurture their literary skills and creativity.

Program Activities        :   On 19th  June 2026, the Malayalam Literary Association “Varthamanam” of Christ college, Vizhinjam organized Reading Day celebrations to Foster literary awareness, reading habits, and creative expression among students. As part of the observance, a story reading competition with 7 participants and a poetry recitation competition with 4 participants were conducted. The performances were evaluated strictly based on voice modulation, clarity of pronunciation, emotional presentation, and sweetness of tone. In the story Reading Competition, Saisa Shibili.R (5th Semester BCA secured the first place and Arjun (5th semester B.Com Finance) won the second place.In the poetry recitation competition, Anna Mary (5th semester BCA) bagged the fisrt place, while Bismi Shifana N.F (PG English student )secured the second place. The event concluded successfully, providing a wonderful platform for students to exhibit their creative talents.
