ANTI NARCOTIC CELL

 Purpose
The main purpose of the Anti-Narcotic Cell in colleges is to prevent, control, and create awareness about the use of drugs and other narcotic substances among students. It aims to ensure a drug-free and healthy campus environment and promote the physical and mental well-being of students.

Functions

  1. Awareness Programs
    • Organize seminars, workshops, and campaigns on the harmful effects of drug abuse.
    • Observe International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (June 26).
  2. Counselling and Support
    • Provide counselling and guidance to students who are vulnerable or addicted.
    • Refer serious cases to professional rehabilitation centres or counsellors.
  3. Surveillance and Prevention
    • Monitor the campus to prevent the use or sale of narcotic substances.
    • Coordinate with local law enforcement or anti-narcotic agencies if needed.
  4. Student Involvement
    • Encourage students to become peer educators and ambassadors of a drug-free campus.
    • Form student committees to report suspicious activities anonymously.
  5. Coordination with Authorities
    • Work in collaboration with the college administration, police department, and health agencies.
    • Maintain records and submit periodic reports about awareness activities and cases handled.
  6. Policy Implementation
    • Enforce anti-drug policies and ensure disciplinary actions for violations.
    • Promote a culture of zero tolerance towards drug abuse within the institution.
