The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) of Christ College, Vizhinjam is constituted
to address and resolve the genuine grievances and complaints of students, faculty, and
non-teaching staff in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner. The Cell aims to
promote and maintain a harmonious educational environment within the campus by
ensuring justice and mutual respect.
The GRC functions in accordance with the UGC (Grievance Redressal)
Regulations, 2012 and acts as a support mechanism to improve institutional
functioning by responding to concerns related to academics, administration, and
personal matters.
A grievance means any complaint made by a student about unfair treatment, problems,
or violations by the college/institution.
It can include issues like :
- Admission done unfairly or against the rules.
- Irregularities or refusal of admission despite eligibility.
- False or misleading information in the prospectus.
- Withholding certificates or documents to force fee payment.
- Charging extra money beyond the approved fees.
- Ignoring reservation rules in admissions.
- Delay or non-payment of scholarships or financial aid.
- Delay in exams or results beyond the academic schedule.
- Lack of promised facilities or amenities.
- Unfair or non-transparent evaluation of students.
- Delay or refusal to refund fees when a student withdraws on time.
- Discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, disability, etc.
- Poor quality of education not matching promises or standards.
- Harassment or victimization of students.
- Any action against university or government rules/guidelines.
