Christ College, Vizhinjam and Hindi Department’s club ‘Roshni’ in association with IQAC organized the 146th Premchand Jayanti Celebration on 31 July 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the renowned Hindi-Urdu writer, Munshi Premchand. The programme aimed to familiarize students with Premchand’s literary contributions, humanistic values, and the social relevance of his works.
In this occasion one quiz programme, based on Premchand and his literature was conducted for the students under guidance of Dr Chithra V S (Faculty Co-ordinator)and Dr Sindhu B I(HOD Department of Hindi). Student’s from various departments enthusiastically particilated in this competition.The Quiz moderator was Dr Chithra V S and it was evaluated by Mayookha and Liyana Fathima S (S1 Commerce)under the strict observation of Dr Sindhu B I. After the first round, top two high score teams, Nirmala and Rangabhoomi selected for final round.
Faculties appreciated the efforts of all participants and selected Rangabhoomi team (Nandhakumar B S S5 BCom-Tax, Alan Stanley S3 BCA, Abdul Ahad Abdul Salam S5 Tax and Abhishek S S5 Finance)as the winner of Premchand Jayanti Quiz Competition 2026.Secod prize winners were Nirmala team (Milan Raj S S5 BCA, Muhammed Sajid.T S5 BCA, Sunayana Fathima S1 Commerce and Shruthi AntonyS1 Commerce).Overall the competion was a great success.In addition to the competition, for the awareness of the classical writer Premchand, some photo prints and his Novels and Stories were exhibited in the venue.
