The Department of Psychology, Christ College, Vizhinjam, organized NOESIS 2025, a series of
events held as part of the Mental Health Awareness Month from October 9 to 23, 2025.
The initiative focused on mental well-being, emotional awareness, and holistic development
through creative, academic, and experiential sessions.
October 9 – Thejaswa Talk Series
Topic: Understanding Psychological Responses to Disaster
Speakers: Dr. L. R. Madhujan (Founder & Director, Psychopark) and Mr. Vivek K. M. (Faculty,
Dept. of Social Work, CCV)
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Description:
The first event of NOESIS 2025, held in association with Karunasai Psychopark, explored
how individuals psychologically respond to disasters. The speakers emphasized trauma
management, resilience building, and the significance of psychological first aid. The
interactive Q&A helped students connect classroom learning to real-world applications in
crisis psychology.
October 13 – Inauguration, Art Therapy, and Games

Description:
The formal inauguration of NOESIS 2025 was conducted by Dr. Joseph K. A., Principal, who
addressed the gathering and officially launched the Mental Health Awareness Month. The
ceremony included the installation of the Ventilation Box—a student-led reflective activity
for expressing thoughts anonymously—and a banner drop, symbolizing openness and
awareness.
Following the inauguration, the Art Therapy session themed “Heal Through Creativity”
encouraged participants to express emotions through artistic forms such as mandala and
free drawing. The Games session, themed “Heal Through Play,” focused on relaxation,

teamwork, and emotional growth through interactive play. Both sessions created a safe and
creative environment for stress relief and emotional exploration.
October 14 – Workshop
Topic: How to Become a Professional Psychologist
Facilitator: Dr. Prajeesh Palanthara (Founder & Chief Psychologist, Dr. Palanthara’s Centre
for Mindful Living)

Description:
This interactive workshop guided students through the educational pathways, ethical
responsibilities, and skills required to become a professional psychologist. Dr. Palanthara
discussed various fields of specialization and inspired students to pursue the discipline with
passion, empathy, and scientific curiosity.
October 15 – Debate Competition
Topic: Mental Health for Students: Training for Every Teacher or Just Psychology Teachers?
Time: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Description:
Students from multiple departments debated whether mental health training should be
mandatory for all teachers. The participants presented thought-provoking perspectives,
highlighting the growing need for mental health literacy in education. The event enhanced
critical reasoning and empathy in addressing student well-being.
