The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell Inauguration

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell of Christ College, Vizhinjam, was formally inaugurated on 17th September 2025. The program was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to promote awareness and understanding of IPR among students and faculty.

The inaugural session began with a welcome address, followed by the formal inauguration of the IPR Cell. The highlight of the event was an orientation session by Adv. Aravind S, who provided valuable insights into the importance of Intellectual Property Rights in academia, research, and entrepreneurship.

  • The session covered key aspects of IPR, including:
  • Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks, and Designs
  • Legal and ethical dimensions of intellectual property
  • Procedures for protecting innovations and creative works
  • The role of IPR in encouraging research, innovation, and entrepreneurship

An interactive Q&A session allowed participants to clarify doubts and understand practical aspects of filing and protecting intellectual property.

The programme successfully created awareness and set the foundation for the IPR Cell as a resource centre in the college, aimed at guiding students and faculty in protecting and promoting their innovative ideas and research outcomes.
