Christ Writing Lab Inauguration and Academic Writing Orientation was held on 01 July 2025 at Christ College, Vizhinjam, organized by the Department of English. The session took place in Room number 7 and was attended by S4 BA English and S2 MA English students. The faculty coordinator for the event was Ms Soorya Nayana S. S. The event was inaugurated by Dr Roshan R., Head, Dept of Management Studies.
The objective of the programme was to help students understand the importance of academic writing in higher education, introduce them to discipline-specific writing styles and formats, teach them to structure essays and research papers, and emphasize the importance of referencing (like APA and MLA) while also explaining plagiarism and its consequences.
The main activity was an orientation session conducted by Mrs. Lekshmi Priya J. P., which included a PowerPoint presentation introducing students to the basic components of academic writing.
