The Department of Commerce organized an inter-departmental workshop on “Demat Account Creation & Stock Trading” on 06/10/2025 at Christ College, Vizhinjam, with participation from selected students of various departments. The programme, coordinated by Ms. Remya R.T(Asst. Prof.Dept. of Commerce), aimed to create awareness about the stock market, provide hands-on training in demat account creation and stock trading, and promote financial literacy. Expert facilitators, including Mr. Jobi Ninan, Mr. Abhilash N, and Mr. Sudheer Kumar K, guided students through live demonstrations on investment procedures, documentation, and practical trading insights. The sessions included an introduction to stock trading, interactive Q&A discussions, and guidance on avoiding common mistakes. Participants reported improved understanding of investment practices, legal compliance, and career opportunities in the financial sector. Overall, the workshop was highly informative, interactive, and beneficial, motivating students to apply the knowledge gained in future investment and trading activities.
