Report on “Science Behind Wellness: A Mind-Body Connection” Workshop
The Department of Psychology, Christ College, Vizhinjam, organized a workshop titled “Science Behind Wellness: A Mind-Body Connection” on 25th July 2025 for S3 FYUGP Psychology students in the seminar hall. Coordinated by Ms. Neeraja K. Panicker with student coordinators Ms. Aparna Ajith, Ms. Arya B. Jayapalan, and Ms. Devananda P. R, the workshop aimed to highlight the scientific link between mind and body while fostering awareness of psychological well-being. The session began with a welcome address by Ms. Venessa Maneak, followed by the introduction of facilitators, Ms. Rajula Maniyeri, Chief Consultant Psychologist, and Mr. Abhinand S. Ambadi, Research Associate at Hapinus Care. Ms. Maniyeri delivered an engaging session on emotions and their physiological aspects, human evolution, social behaviour, neuroplasticity, and the beneficial role of stress hormones, incorporating interactive activities such as affirmations, brain mimicry demonstrations, and discussions on empathy. Mr. Abhinand followed with insights on balancing “happiness” and “sadness” hormones through lifestyle practices. The workshop concluded with Jacobson’s Progressive Muscle Relaxation, participant feedback, and a vote of thanks by Ms. Niji S. S, leaving students with practical tools to enhance wellness.
